Value Investing -- Gannon
I don't often write in detail about other sites, but Geoff Gannon at Gannon on Investing was kind enough to call attention to this blog a little while ago when I wrote about Overstock, so I thought I'd take a moment to recommend him to you if you haven't yet seen his work.
Gannon on investing is a value investing site, and Geoff tries to diligently follow the strictures of Graham, Buffett and the rest of the Value Pantheon. He does a great job, as far as I can see ... he was touting the value of Overstock while I was moaning about it and selling it, and certainly in the short term he's been right (though the short term isn't what either of us is thinking about).
Value investing has certainly been the single best way to safely make money over the years -- I like to mix things up and seek out exciting growth opportunities as well as companies that seem mispriced, but I think Gannon's more disciplined approach may well be more succesful if he can keep it up. He also, unlike me, has entered the 21st century and started podcasting -- I'm planning to listen. For those who are looking for new ideas in the value world, here's another place to start.
