Please note that Palau will TEMPORARILY take the Uighurs as a 'humanitarian gesture'.

This one really, really bugs me - what is the need to close down guantanamo & ship 200mln to this island.

Also, I would like to apply to take some of the prisoners. I could buy an island, hire a bunch of wonderful ex-marines to gauard the place for life & still have change left over

as dilbert would say....aaaaaaaaaarh!!!!!! (aaaaaaaaaarh!!!, leveraged, 2X)

China is protesting, They are OURS and WE want then back !

The Chinese will torture and kill them...Obama won't allow that...

LOl....is Obama a bad guy because of that?
  4.  Report Post# 8
Obama isn't a bad guy because of that (we'll skip the obverse). Obama must realize that Gitmo is preferrable to returning the 17 to the Chinese. (I'm sure the 17 DO, although I know they'd prefer freedom.)

Why not keep them at Gitmo?

There are better uses for the $200 million. It's just a drop in the bucket to Obama, but it's money nonetheless.

Man there's just no creative thinking by this lame-o adminisration in Washington. Look, N. Korea has 2 American (Al Gore employees, anyhow) journalists as prisoner for 12 years right??? I say we try and arrange a swap....the 200 or so prisoners at Gitmo for the 2 journalists. It's potentially a win-win situation. N. Korea gets 200+ strong guys for 2 weaky women. Obama can then close gitmo as promised....PROBLEM SOLVED
