I don't know if anyone else has gone to these sites, but I find them useful for understanding the macro-ecoomic picture and from time to time I've even obtained good information on a specific stock. I'm referring to Bloomberg TV which streams their Asia, Brazil, and European channels over the inter-net. Start by going to bloomberg.com ... scroll down until you see the "LIVE TV" image....click on ....then click on the link for the specific Bloomberg TV channel you want. The Asia channel broadcasts in English, Brazil (the other area I'm interested in is in Portugese ) It's a way to avoid paying the premium fee for the foreign Bloomberg channels, if they're even available from your cable /satellite provider

Here is a link to today's daily wealth. They are using amount of railroad cars being mothballed as an indicator of future economy. Kind of interesting, in a practical, boots-on-the-ground kind of way.
